Black Geyser Review. A new RPG that captures the essence of Baldur’s Gate 2... NOT!
Welcome to Ye Old Entertainment and welcome to our review on Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness. Some of you have labeled this new crpg the successor of Baldur's Gate 2. I think it's the dullest rpg that's come out in recent memory. There are a couple of good ideas here, and this developer shows promise.
Perhaps the best thing that can be said about Black Geyser is that it is unsuccessful but promising. While you can clearly see the influences of Icewind Dale 2, Baldur's Gate 2, and even some modern day classics like Pillars of Eternity 2 or Divinity Original Sin II, it lacks the weight or gravitas the story, combat and immersion those other titles have.
Unless you've played every other RPG that's come out in recent memory (Solasta Crown of the Magister, and even Pathfinder Kingmaker and Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, which I didn't like very much), this game is a hard pass unfortunately.
