I now know that I need a key and a portal door to reach Ravel, the key is apparently a piece of Ravel herself. Obtaining the key involves getting Ecco her voice back and a bit of sleuthing in the brothel.

FYI settings for this run were difficulty 4, no full heal on rest and no max HP on level up. Oh and no mouse cursor, my bad, this does get fixed later in the run, apologies if it bothers you.
