Gameplay of my RGC podcast game club pick play along of Plants vs Zombies.

I chose to play the newer ad supported version of the game on iPhone 14 Pro. I edited out all the ads from this video but there sure are a lot of them. You can pay $2.99 to remove the ads, and if you are going to play for an extended period of time, it would definitely be worth it.

🕹️ Gameplay Impressions —————

Plants vs Zombies was one of my favorite early mobile games (first released on iPhone Feb 2010) and i played a lot of it. Can’t recall much it cost back then, but it wasn’t a lot.

These days it’s a free to play ad supported game and all it will cost…is your sanity.

But other than the constant interruption from ads, it’s same fun game I remembered and I even remembered my general strategy.

My strategy involves placing offensive shooter plants one or two rows from the back to allow space for sunflowers, then I allow one to two rows for shooting plants, then place a defensive unit (like the seed) in front of them with a bomb seed in front of that.

Sometimes the zombie horde isn’t big enough to allow for all that, but for larger hordes it’s a decent approach.

Plants vs Zombies is a great mobile game but I’m not sure how much I would play it on a computer or console. Even though it released on PC first, it seems tailor made for mobile.

If you haven’t given it a try you definitely should.
