my fist run through Platinum Demo, jotting down things I noticed along the way.

a) the broken water reflection from a certain angle is still not fixed from Episode Duscae.

b) there's apparently no lower height restriction to aerial attack still, child Noctis looks kinda wonky.

c) combat wise, the Crush ► Ravage ► Vanquish and Counter rules still apply, just applied to every weapon instead of "slots" for weapons to be categorised as. Still need more tests in this department, but for now, weapon switch-reset Crush?

d) when doing an aerial attack very low to the ground, Noctis can continue to either Crush or Vanquish. I switched weapon because the combat control differs from field control.

e) after getting knocked down, Noctis can't change the active equipment slot in the menu... for some reason. Perhaps more actions prevent this as well. Need more testing.
[UPDATE: some actions do prevent changing the active slot]

f) the last 2 clips are random thoughts on...

- the stop to pose when switching weapon is annoying, breaks the flow somewhat. Clawing ain't that hard...

- Broadsword (not fishbone, yay!) can be switched out to other weapon a bit too easily. A little more commitment would be nice. Perhaps other actions like dodge or block to cancel it, because simply switching it out makes it seems weightless. Perhaps I'm just imagining heavy sword to heavy sword switch-reset Crush.

- Armiger is still just play-less-watch-more option to the combat. It has its own meter now, a positive direction at least. Baby steps.

- I kept mashing warp strike because I forgot I have the Iron Golem locked-on. But notice the Armiger gauge refills slightly every warp strike...

- Clicking L3 to run is still horrible for my taste, so does R3 for locking on. Combat camera needs work, it follows the target too strictly for a game that has this kinda mobility.

- TOO MUCH TEXT OVERLAY DURING COMBAT! It's Rocket League all over again.

================================================

From the lack of uploads, one may have guessed I've been quite busy. I'll return to this for more tests, particularly on my interest - aerial combat. When time permits.

Plus I've a backlog of things to upload... oh dear.
