Plutonia - Map 11: Hunted Walkthrough - PSX Doom Master Edition (Beta 4)
42I've been following DOOM Master Edition development for a long time, but now they released Beta 4, adding new monsters to the game as well as new maps. So I decided to try these changes and share a bunch of walkthrough videos.
Oh, boy! I didn't expect survival horror to be in the game! The point is, there are a lot of nightmare archviles on this map which have twice as much HP as regular archviles, and, if you pistol-start this map, you basically don't have enough ammo to kill all of them. I remembered about the berserk only when I got to the teleport which take you out of the labyrinth. Their chase sounds freaked me out the first time I heard them.
Even though I got used to PlayStation control, I died several times. You didn't see it because I used savestates and replayed those situations.
In the end, I intentionally used the teleport with 4 arch-viles, and looks like the game doesn't handle the effect of ending the level upon you reaching 11 HP or lower while being within sector type 11. I hope it will work alright in the future, but for now you can finish the map with the safe teleport only.
