*A FIGHTING CHANCE*

Here's the next team in the marathon! A little update on the Shogakukan deal, I emailed Nintendo. They said that they understand my concerns. Before responding they did their research as well and are sending my comments anonymously to their legal department. YouTube has yet to contact me about the situation though...so it seems #82 may never come back. We'll wait though. Meanwhile, I'm at least happy that Nintendo is doing something. ^.^

Electivire - Turbine - Magnet Rise, Cross Chop, ThunderPunch, Ice Punch

This is actually the first battle that you'll see Electivire in action. He's the only Electric physical attacker on this team...yet I rarely use him. It's too bad. He's fun to use and versatile too! Magnet Rise is here for obvious reasons. He's faster by default than two of the Ground-types on this team, and if he gets a speed boost beforehand, he can outrun Gliscor too and lift himself off the ground if need be.

Claydol - Spy - Psychic, Rest, Ice Beam, Cosmic Power

Meh. The only times I ever got to use Claydol's strategy, the opponent gave up after a couple of turns. I hate that. I really want to show Claydol off, but I can't because people are so quick to give up. It can usually take hits well, and if I'm able to get a few Cosmic Powers in, it's extremely hard to take down.

Zapdos - No Nickname - Air Cutter, AncientPower, Discharge, Heat Wave

Easily the Pokemon used most often on this team...and absolutely the most limited. Zapdos has some great moves in its arsenal, but Specs only allows the use of one. Discharge is usually the one, but I've recorded myself using them all at one point or another, I believe. With Jolteon, Electivire, and various Ground-types running around, a nice mix of moves is necessary.

Nidoqueen - Tina - Aqua Tail, Earthquake, Helping Hand, Toxic Spikes

Nidoqueen is a cool Pokemon. I prefer her over her male counterpart. Against other females, however, this particular Nidoqueen doesn't do too well. She also doesn't make a good partner to Gliscor at all. She's still helpful in other ways, though. After a Helping Hand from her, Zapdos is particularly dangerous, and if any females are on the field...Nidoqueen's Earthquake packs a wallop!

Lanturn - Electra - Protect, Signal Beam, Discharge, BubbleBeam

Yeah, yeah...I know. BubbleBeam? I wanted it on one Pokemon, so I figured Lanturn was a good choice even though her special attack isn't so...special. The Pokemon who are hurt most by BubbleBeam can also be taken down by Earthquake, so I don't use that move often. Lanturn is just built to stick around and deal bits of damage...annoying the opponent.

Gliscor - Countess - Rock Slide, Earthquake, Swords Dance, Night Slash

One of my favorites from Gen. 4, Gliscor is pretty awesome. If she can get a Swords Dance in, she's especially dangerous...and if Zapdos isn't around, she's often the target of most of the attacks. Her moveset is pretty well-rounded, and she's fast meaning she can take down lots of foes before they take down her.

It isn't often that you realize a battle's outcome by the first round, but I could here. I blanked out about the Hitmonchan/Hitmontop duo, and as soon as I finalized Swords Dance, I knew those two would wipe out Claydol and Gliscor. But then I remembered Gliscor had a Yache...and I didn't think Hitmonchan would be able to do as much damage with Ice Punch. I was wrong. Gliscor's defense is excellent and Hitmonchan STILL almost took her out. Oh well...Zapdos sure was a star though. Wow. I sure wish I would've chosen Air Cutter instead of Discharge though...but I had no idea Ursula was going to choose all 4 Fighting-types against me.

I chose - Claydol, Gliscor, Zapdos, and Electivire

Ursula chose - Hitmontop, Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, and Breloom
