*LEAVE IT TO MEDICHAM*

Last time I saw Ash on the show was forever ago. I stopped watching before Johto even got off, but I'm fairly certain Ash never got his hands on a Lugia...or any of these Pokemon for that matter.

Jirachi - No Nickname - Zen Headbutt, Iron Head, Wish, Thunder Wave

I hardly ever get the chance to use the move Wish. Double battles make it difficult because there's no telling whether or not the opponents will team up against Jirachi after it uses Wish and knock it out. That would mean the turn I used Wish would've been wasted. Luckily, Jirachi doesn't rely on Wish until maybe the end game. Serene Grace with these moves is awesome...however Zen Headbutt with 90 accuracy misses at the worst times...ahem.

Dunsparce - Angel - Glare, Bite, Roost, Rock Slide

My other Serene Grace Pokemon, Dunsparce really doesn't deal much damage...at all. However, she's probably the single most annoying member of this team despite acting A LOT like Jirachi. Dunsparce can instantly heal herself though, and she can hit two opponents with Rock Slide which is helpful. If she's lucky, the little bits of damage she takes away doesn't matter as long as the opponent stays immobilized. Because of her item, the accuracy of Glare and Rock Slide is boosted high enough for them to hit quite a bit...making her even more annoying.

Grumpig - Will - Magic Coat, Psychic, Calm Mind, Energy Ball

Like Wish on Jirachi, Calm Mind is tough to get in sometimes...especially against physical attackers. Grumpig can usually take one physical hit, so I'd much rather go all out and attack if I can. However, against special attackers, Grumpig truly shines. Thick Fat is amazing since it gives him two more resistances...and common ones at that. Magic Coat is for...you guessed it...Darkrai. Also, if you don't know, I did not nickname Grumpig after the old Psychic Elite Four member. I named him after Wilbur from Charlotte's Web.

Leafeon - Ivy - Quick Attack, Leaf Blade, Swords Dance, X-Scissor

I really needed a quick Leafeon for this team, and I feel I got one. Quick Attack is slightly unnecessary, but against Weavile, it's a must. Leafeon's defense is good enough that it can take an Ice Punch sometimes...but Weavile will always be faster. It's good, if said Weavile is Sashed, to have a priority move to take it out once and for all. Leafeon is kind of a weird choice for this team and is probably the one Pokemon that "doesn't fit", but he's great. One of the most underrated Eeveelutions, and one of my favorites (right after Vaporeon).

Medicham - Telekin - Ice Punch, Fake Out, ThunderPunch, Brick Break

Didn't know Medicham had all these fancy moves did you? He never gets to do anything, and it's disappointing. If it wasn't for this particular Medicham's poor HP, he'd probably be better off. On paper, Medicham's stats are kind of puny across the board...but with Pure Power, he's pretty awesome. Too bad his speed isn't boosted too though. It'd help this guy out quite a bit more to get the upper-hand on common threats. Come to think of it, it'd probably be a better idea to save this guy for AFTER my opponents are paralyzed by Jirachi and Dunsparce.

Noctowl - Mystique - Air Slash, Hypnosis, Shadow Ball, Heat Wave

Owls are my favorite birds, so I had to use Noctowl somewhere. Noctowl was one of my favorites back in the Johto days too, and that's saying something since the Johto cast wasn't too memorable to me. This Noctowl is a pretty basic special attacker. She is Medicham in special form...and she can take special hits MUCH better. Second best to Grumpig, I think.

In this battle, I thought I was looking at a tough fight. The more the battle went on though, the less the moves from my opponent made sense. Blast Burn on Jirachi at such low health, for example, was just careless. I guess that's the way Ash would play though. His move choices have been known for being pretty dinky...but unlike on the show, this guy isn't just given the win.

I chose - Medicham, Dunsparce, Jirachi, and Grumpig

Ash chose - Typhlosion, Articuno, Lugia, and Suicune
