Pokémon Emerald Randomized Nuzlocke Live Stream! #5
5Welcome back, Pokémon Trainers! The time has come for our next adventure through the world of Pokémon! In this series, we'll be revisiting the Hoenn region of Generation 3, with a considerable twist. To start, this will be our first time exploring Pokémon Emerald on the channel, and all the new features that this title includes.
As for the twists:
- Firstly, this will be a randomized version of the game - from the Pokémon encountered on each route to the items strewn about the landscape, nothing will be quite how you may remember it.
- This will also be a Nuzlocke adventure, bringing with it its own set of rules. In a Nuzlocke, only the first encounter in each area matters - meaning, if I knock out the first wild Pokémon I encounter on a route, I can no longer try to catch anything on that route and must just move on.
- Every Pokémon must be nicknamed in a Nuzlocke, and for this series, I'll be looking for nicknames from the live viewers! Be sure to hang out for the entire stream and participate for a chance to virtually join our team!
- If any of my Pokémon faint for any reason whatsoever at any time, that Pokémon will be considered permanently lost, and must be placed in the PC for the rest of the game.
- Another rule I'm adding is that I can't have more than one instance of any Pokémon type on my team at the same time. If I have a Pidgey (Normal/Flying) and I then catch a Zubat (Poison/Flying), since Zubat shares the Flying-type with Pidgey, Zubat must be placed in the PC until I no longer have any Poison- or Flying-types on my team; Zubat can then be taken out of the PC to join the active team.
- Lastly, to add even more challenge to the adventure, much like in wi-fi battles, I will not be allowed to use healing items during any Trainer battles. I'll have to use my knowledge of typing and abilities to keep our team alive and kicking!
