The longest segment in this run. The battle with Bugsy is very difficult because Totodile hasn't evolved yet. Scyther can easily 2HKO Totodile and I need to avoid Leer before it uses U-Turn. Medapod is a good opponent to heal and to boost Totodile's attack with Rage. I can 2HKO Scyther after three Rage's and U-Turn needs to be avoided. Kakuna is very easy and Totodile finally evolves when it learned Ice Fang.
This move becomes very helpful in the next rival battle. Zubat can be easily defeated by Ice Fang and Gastly by Bite. Bayleef was the main reason to learn Ice Fang, because it's next to impossible to beat the rival without it. The Farfetch'd puzzle in Ilex Forest is easy if you know how to do it. I also taught Croconaw Headbutt because it's useful later. I dodged every trainer in Route 34 and got through the required Day Care scene;
Next up is Golden Rod City where I do a lot of things. First, I bought some items including Super Repels, X-Items and a Pokédoll. Then I got the Bike and the Radio Card. I entered the gym and fought two trainers. The Snubbell can be a bit annoying with Intimidate. I saved before facing Whitney.
