Out of all the media that Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue generated, there is but a single phrase that I think captures the series' goal of personal growth like no other. Realistically, "Gotta catch 'em all!" was created as a marketing gimmick, but in the same way the reality of good marketing is that it sticks with you for an incredibly long time. Everyone knows that Professor Oak's dream was to create an encyclopedia of all of the Pokemon in the world, and I am declaring now in this part that we will be doing our best to achieve that goal. I will be making my best effort to capture and raise every Pokemon available to me in this version. While that unfortunately locks a few FireRed exclusive Pokemon, that still leaves us with more than 100 to look forward to finding. I am looking forward to how this challenge will create emergent decisions as we climb towards Victory Road and the Pokemon Champion!
