For some reason in the Gen I games, if you reset, your Repels will stop working. I used a Repel at the beginning of this segment for that reason. The required trainers here have some annoying Pokémon. Slowpokes are KO'd by a combination of Dig and Bite and they can use Disable. The girl has an Oddish and a Bulbasaur and both survive a Dig so I try to 2HKO them with Bite. I saved when my Repel wore out to not waste its few more active steps.

Saved at 0:55 with a L29 Wartortle.
