To tie in with Pokémon Day, this is another 7 Star Tera Raid Event, this time the Pokémon featured is Pikachu with the Water Tera Type. This event is only live for this weekend, unlike past 7 Star Tera Raid Events where they were available twice. This is the first ever Tera Raid where the featured Pokémon is holding an item, Pikachu in this event is holding a Light Ball to make its attacks hit even harder. There are no Pokémon in the 4 and 5 Star Tera Raids during this event, and you do get the Light Ball when you capture the Pikachu, as it will be holding the item when caught.
Pikachu's moves in the Tera Raid are Thunder, Surf, Play Rough, and Iron Tail, and it has Rain Dance as an additional move, which Pikachu will use at the start of the battle and follow that up with Surf to hit all Pokémon. Pikachu will put up a shield right away, and attacks seem a bit weak, but when the Pokémon is Terastallized, they can do good damage to it, and best Pokémon to use against it are Grass-type Pokémon that can withstand Pikachu's attacks.
I trained up an Arboliva for this event, and I gave her Sunny Day to remove the rain, while also weakening Pikachu's Surf and the accuracy of Thunder, while Giga Drain and Solar Beam are there to get in some damage when Arboliva is Terastallized to a Grass Tera Type. Other good Grass-type options include Leafeon, Lurantis, Appletun, and Mow Rotom if they have the Grass Tera Type, while Clodsire and Gastrodon work as supporters, Clodsire can use Acid Spray and Mud-Slap to weaken Pikachu's stats, and if you want, you can go with a Grass Tera Type on Clodsire and give it Tera Blast as a way to deal super effective damage to Pikachu. One other thing I didn't realize at the time of recording this video is the move Knock Off, which can remove Pikachu's Light Ball, and one of few Pokémon to learn that move is Meowscarada, which resists Thunder and Surf, but has to watch out for Play Rough.
Pikachu does have Lightning Rod, don't bring any Electric-type Pokémon into the Tera Raid as that will give it a Special Attack boost, and lowering stats with moves like Screech won't work, you will want to use moves like Acid Spray to weaken the Tera Raid Pokémon's stats when their shield is up.
This Pikachu has a Quiet Nature, which means you will need to use a Mint to change its Nature to Timid, and the nice thing about coming with the Light Ball is that you can breed it to get Volt Tackle. Pikachu can learn Nasty Plot, Thunderbolt, Light Screen, and Iron Tail for possible level up moves, and for TMs, it can learn Trailblaze, Charge Beam, Volt Switch, Brick Break, Thunder Punch, Reflect, Grass Knot, Eerie Impulse, Play Rough, Surf, Encore, and Electric Terrain. Pikachu can be really hard to use in Tera Raids due to its very low defensive stats, it is more of a collector's reward, but at least you get a free Light Ball, as well as an Ability Patch, a TM for Surf, and some Water Tera Shards for completing the Tera Raid.
