I have decided to show you the Spear Pillar events in Shining Pearl, this is because in that game, Cyrus will summon Palkia using the Red Chain, and it will create distortions in space and dimension, I have uploaded the events in Brilliant Diamond, and here is the link to that video if anyone is interested.

I did explain about most of the stuff in that video, like the fight with Mars and Jupiter, and then the fight with Cyrus after that one. The differences is that I am playing as Dawn in that version, well I am playing as the girl, but it's strange calling her any other name than Dawn because of the Pokémon Anime, and my rival is named Clint, because that is one of his default names in Shining Pearl, so it will be strange not calling him Barry, which is his canon name and one of his default names in Brilliant Diamond.
I have started with Turtwig in that version, so Barry's team, well Clint's team because his name isn't Barry in that version, is Munchlax, Staraptor, Heracross, Buizel, Roselia, and Infernape.
As with the team I am using, I am using Mismagius as it is exclusive to Shining Pearl, Togekiss is from the Grand Underground, Drapion and Machamp are two of my Physical Attackers, and I didn't consider Milotic for my team until recently, I was going to use another Water-type, but in the end, I ended up going with Milotic, as it can take hits well and I needed a defensive wall for my team, and while I do have Torterra for that, it does have some powerful moves like Earthquake and Wood Hammer.
After the fight with Mars and Jupiter, you then fight Cyrus, and one thing I still cannot get over with that fight is his Crobat holding the Quick Claw of all items, Crobat has a base Speed of 130, and it is the fastest Pokémon in the Sinnoh Dex, and should never be holding the Quick Claw, and by the way, Barry's Staraptor does hold the Quick Claw in that Double Battle, while that Munchlax would benefit from it way more. Cyrus's Weavile doesn't have good moves, it has Fling, I did read that it has Pickpocket, so that could be why, but it does have coverage with Dig and Aerial Ace, because I remember in the original games, his Weavile had Ice Punch and Night Slash, or maybe that was in Platinum.
After beating Cyrus, his team leaves, and Professor Rowan and Lucas show up, and as I am playing as the girl in this version, Lucas is the professor's assistant, and then it is time to take on Palkia.
One thing I like about the background is that while Dialga had an orange background, with Palkia, it has a blue background, and you can see a black hole as well, and I do like that battle music as well.
Palkia is way more annoying than Dialga when it comes to fighting it, it knows Aqua Ring, this move will heal Palkia at the end of every turn, and its signature move Spacial Rend has 100 power, but unlike Dialga's Roar of Time, Spacial Rend does not force Palkia to recharge after using it. Palkia does have Slash and Ancient Power, it has no Water-type moves, so having a Steel-type, specially one at Level 47 or higher, can help resist Palkia's moves well.
Palkia is a Water/Dragon-type Pokémon, so you might need to stock up on Net Balls to catch it, as they have a higher catch rate on Water-type Pokémon, but unlike in the original games where Palkia and Dialga had a catch rate of 30, which is the same catch rate as Chatot, in this game, Palkia has the usual Legendary Pokémon catch rate of 3, so it will take a bunch of Poké Balls to catch it, Net Balls or Timer Balls are your best ones to use.
After catching or defeating Palkia, do not turn back yet, because right where it was, you can pick up the Lustrous Orb, in Brilliant Diamond, it would be the Adamant Orb. The Lustrous Orb boosts the power of Palkia's Water and Dragon-type moves when equipped, and as it is Level 47, if you don't mind using Legendary Pokémon, Palkia is an excellent Pokémon to add to your team, and it does come with Spacial Rend when caught, and you can teach it Surf through TM to give it a Water-type move, and it has excellent TM versatility in moves like Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, and many others, and it can learn Aura Sphere and Power Gem for some good level up moves, but its later moves, like Earth Power and Hydro Pump are learned very late, so I would recommend teaching it Surf if you plan on using it. Water/Dragon is a really powerful STAB combination, and with both Spacial Rend and Surf, not many Pokémon resist those two types, and if you give it Thunderbolt and Flamethrower, this will round out Palkia's coverage, allowing it to deal super effective damage against a wide variety of Pokémon, so you might want to equip an Expert Belt to get the best out of Palkia.
