The Pokémon Presents has aired, and we have received some news on upcoming games, like Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, as well as Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and that Ranked Battles will still be for Sword & Shield, so they will not shift to Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, but I hope they bring back the missing Pokémon into Sword & Shield, because I am sure there are players that are missing some of their favourite Pokémon that are absent in Sword & Shield.
As for the battle, and I did see that my opponent has a half-Legendary Pokémon team, even though Marshadow is considered a Mythical Pokémon. This was one where I put Shiftry to the test, because it was very difficult to get her in a battle because of how many weaknesses she has. She has Sunny Day to set up the sun, and she has Solar Blade and Throat Chop for some good STAB moves, and Brick Break for coverage, I know that Heat Wave is an option, as Shiftry can set up the sun with Max Flare from Heat Wave, but this is a Physical Shiftry, so I decided on Sunny Day to help her activate Chlorophyll and get in some work in battle.
While it was good seeing my opponent using Inteleon and Marshadow, and I did see he had Zekrom, but it wasn't the only Restricted Legendary Pokémon on his team, and this isn't a Ranked Battle, otherwise Dynamax wouldn't be allowed in the current season, and Mythical Pokémon have never been legal in any season of Ranked Battles.
It was a tough choice with what Pokémon to use, and as I wanted to test out Shiftry in this battle, as I have used Shiftry in a past team, but I felt like I didn't give her much of a chance last time, and I wanted to give Shiftry another chance to see how well she would do in battle, and this was one where I decided to test her out, and I did consider using Azumarill at first, but I decided on Golurk, because as my opponent picked Zekrom, I went with Golurk so that it stood a good chance against it, it can be tricky to pick the right Pokémon for each battle, specially if it is an opponent with a varied team of Pokémon, because I tend to find myself at an easier advantage if my opponent has more than one Pokémon of the same type, and while this is the case with both Sharpedo and Inteleon, my opponent didn't use Sharpedo in this battle, and he did Dragonite as well as Zekrom and Kyurem, so he had three Dragon-type Pokémon, the team he picked had different types completely, so I do find that to be a decent balance in using a team in battle.
