Before starting Surprise Trade, I enter another Mystery Gift code, and this one gives you a Lucario, this is a tie-in to the Anime, its moves are Aura Sphere, Bullet Punch, Reversal, and Steel Beam, some good moves it has, and it has a Neutral Nature as well.
Then for this week's Surprise Trade, and I am trading Dedenne for this week, Generation 6's Pikachu clone. As usual, I breed for 31 IVs in at least 4 or 5 stats, and I went with Timid for the Nature, as Dedenne's best stat is Speed, and its higher one out of its attacking stats is Special Attack, it's not the most useful Pokémon there is, but as it was chosen for me by the list randomizer that I use to decide the Pokémon, I am trading them for this week. I didn't go for the Hidden Ability of Plus, as that is an Ability that requires a teammate that has Minus for the Ability for it to work, and the only few Pokémon that get Minus include Pokémon like Klinklang, Manectric, and Toxtricity, and they have better Abilities to make use of, Pickup is better for going through the game, while Cheek Pouch is better for battles.
For Egg Moves, Dedenne can get Covet, Magnet Rise, and Tearful Look, I will list which parents in the Field and Fairy Egg Groups that can learn those moves.
Covet: Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff, Eevee, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Zigzagoon, Linoone, Leafeon, Glaceon, Espurr, Meowstic, Sylveon, Ribombee, Greedent
Magnet Rise: Togedemaru
Tearful Look: Sobble, Drizzile, Inteleon

While it is just three Egg Moves, Tearful Look can be useful for lowering your opponent's stats, while Magnet Rise gives Dedenne an immunity to Ground-type moves, not that you would use one against a Ground-type opponent, and you relearn Nuzzle, which is a move you will want on Dedenne when going through the game, over it other starting move Tail Whip.
For level up moves, Dedenne learns Tackle, Charge, Thunder Shock, Charm, Parabolic Charge, Volt Switch, Rest, Snore, Discharge, Play Rough, Super Fang, Entrainment, and Thunder. Dedenne is one of few Pokémon to learn Parabolic Charge, the only other Pokémon that can learn it are the Helioptile line.
Then for TMs and TRs, starting with TMs, Dedenne can learn Thunder Punch, Giga Impact, Thunder Wave, Thief, U-turn, Helping Hand, Electroweb, Electric Terrain, and Eerie Impulse for possible moves, and for TRs, it can learn Thunderbolt, Substitute, Endure, Iron Tail, Grass Knot, Electro Ball, Ally Switch, Wild Charge, and Dazzling Gleam, and it learns Rising Voltage as its only Tutor moves.
If you are wondering about Dedenne in competitive battling, it is unviable, it's just too weak to even be usable, it has a base Speed of 101, while that is fast, there are much faster Pokémon that see more use than Dedenne, and it has base 81 Special Attack, which is not going to cut it, and even Talonflame's Attack stat is equal to Dedenne's Special Attack stat, and Talonflame was a top-tier Pokémon in the competitive scene because of Gale Wings before it got nerfed.
The best you can do with Dedenne is use Substitute, equip it with a Petaya Berry, and when its HP is low, it will get a Special Attack boost and heal some HP with Cheek Pouch, and then try to sweep with moves like Thunderbolt, Dazzling Gleam, and Grass Knot. Dedenne can't even learn Recycle in this game, so the only way to have that move on Dedenne is to transfer one from a previous generation that knows the move Recycle, so there is basically no point in using Dedenne in online battles, and if you are wondering about Double Battles, Dedenne is unviable even in Double Battles, while some other Pikachu clones have had success, like Pachirisu winning a VGC Tournament back in 2014, and Togedemaru has even seen use in Double Battles from time to time, and even Raichu with Lightning Rod is a solid option.
Dedenne is decent in the main story, while it's not the best Electric or Fairy-type, it has Pickup which is a nice Ability when going through the game, and it does learn Nuzzle at an early level, the downside is that Dedenne does not learns its first Special Electric-type move until Level 15, and it will have Thunder Shock as its main move until Level 25 when it learns Parabolic Charge, and then Volt Switch at Level 30, I wouldn't say it's meant to be a long-term team member for the main story, as you do get access to better Pokémon when you progress further in the game.
