I take on a paralogue, which is the only battle I can do on the War Map aside from the main chapter battle. This one is available on all routes, it requires you to have recruited Raphael, Ignatz, and Lorenz, and it does explain about Count Gloucester's connection to the monster attacks at Leicester which killed some merchants, including Raphael's parents.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

This is one of few paralogues to be available on all routes, this is because Lorenz, Raphael, and Ignatz can be recruited on all three routes, and this is considered to be one of the harder paralogues, because in some parts of the battles, the thieves will make their escape, and if even a single one makes it to their destination, you will fail, and it even has a strict S Rank limit where you have to beat it in 10 minutes.
You will want to make use of the weapon advantage, and have your units at Advanced class, have Shez take on the Brigands, Lorenz to fight the Assassins, Raphael to fight the Mages, and have Ignatz fight the Brawlers. The first objective is to defeat the thieves, and then you get the objective where some thieves will escape to the evacuation point, and this one is really easy, but the next one is even trickier as the next evacuation point is on the northeast part of the map, and that does count as a loss if even one thief makes it to the evacuation point.
Next you have to defeat seven thieves, and in the middle of it, the ballistae strongholds will be captured, and after stopping the thieves, the leader appears, and claims that Erwin, the former Count Gloucester, had betrayed them, and as the leader uses a sword, have Lorenz fight him, or you can do an All-Out Attack on the leader.
With the paralogue done, this one is kind of like Death Toll, which was Ignatz and Raphael's paralogue in Three Houses, and it never reveals Count Gloucester's connection with the monster attacks on merchants, but with Lorenz as part of this paralogue, this does go into detail about what Count Gloucester's involvement is.
You then earn two Battalions, the main reward is Victor Private Military, a Sword Battalion, I guess you could make Ignatz go into Swordmaster or Assassin if you want, he does learn Appraisal and Despoil from the Thief line, and he does get Spd +10 from Mortal Savant if you are interested in that. The S Rank reward is Leicester Mercenaries, an A Rank Battalion, this can be good once you get to Master class with one of your units.
With the paralogue done, I spend the rest of the video on promoting some units to different classes, and then view some support conversations, and I try and see if I can get some B Support conversations before they are locked away, the only one I can think of right now is most of Ferdinand's C Supports, the ones where Duke Aegir is said to be in house arrest, because after completing Chapter 9, if you haven't viewed some of Ferdinand's C Supports, they do get locked permanently, meaning you can never view them ever, one example is his C Support with Edelgard, and one of his support conversations with Hubert can be locked, or maybe it isn't till later on in the game.
