We are onto Week 3 of Gigantamax Pokémon, and from May 26th till June 2nd, Gigantamax Meowth will be available through Max Raid Battles. The only way you could obtain a Gigantamax Meowth was back through an online distribution from back at the launch of Pokémon Sword & Shield. At least we get the return of that long bodied Meowth that almost reminds me of Alolan Exeggutor in a way.
Another thing is that you can obtain a Shiny Gigantamax Meowth, and you can also obtain its Hidden Ability of Unnerve.
Gigantamax Meowth's Normal-type moves become G-Max Gold Rush, which inflicts confusion to targets, but it has an added effect of scattering coins, much like Pay Day, so this is more for money grinding, so the only reason to use Gigantamax Meowth is for the Champion Cup Rematches at Wyndon, because this Pokémon has no viability in the competitive scene, and you cannot even that Meowth.
There are some reasons why, Meowth's best stat is Speed, the rest of its stats are poor, so there is no reason to use it in online battles, so Gigantamax Meowth is more for collectors, and not even Persian is viable competitively, while it does have high Speed, its stats are very underwhelming.
The nice thing about Meowth is that it is one of few Pokémon to have that many forms, it has a Kantonian, Alolan, and Galarian Form, and it is one of few Pokémon that can Gigantamax, so at least it is something.
For Meowth's other forms, its Alolan Form is a Special attacker, and I have heard about some successful Alolan Persian users back in Sun & Moon VGC Tournaments due to access to moves like Snarl and Parting Shot, but now that Incineroar can get those moves, there isn't much reason to use Alolan Persian.
On the Galarian side, the Steel-type Meowth does not evolve into Persian, it instead becomes Perrserker, it has very good Attack and Defense, but has the same problems Persian has, and that is having below average stats, but the good thing about Perrserker is its Tough Claws to boost the power of contact moves, like Iron Head, Close Combat, and Throat Chop. Perrserker's Hidden Ability is Steely Spirit, any Steel-type moves used by Perrserker or its temmates in a Double Battle will be boosted by 50%, and while Steely Spirit is not bad of an Ability, I find that Tough Claws is better on Perrserker. While it is a decent Steel-type, it is outclassed by much better Pokémon, like Duraludon, Corviknight, Aegislash, Bisharp, and many others.
I don't know what they will do next after Gigantamax Meowth, because we have basically had about every Gigantamax Pokémon revealed so far in the Max Raid Battles, with the exception of Melmetal, which I am not sure how that will be handled, and once the Isle of Armor comes out, I don't know if we will get a Wild Area event for Gigantamax forms of Rillaboom, Cinderace, or Inteleon, so that way we can finally get their Hidden Abilities, but we'll soon find out what Wild Area events will be coming soon.
