It it time for a new adventure in the Pokémon world, this is Pokémon Sword & Shield, these games take place in a new region called Galar, which is known for its industrial cities and the wide open nature. After witnessing the appearance of the Champion, Leon and his Charizard, I set off with Leon's brother, Hop on an adventure to get our first Pokémon.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

I decided to play as the girl protagonist, because I prefer her design over the boy, and according to pre-release demos, the canon name for the girl protagonist is Gloria, her other name is Shield, but then again this is Pokémon Sword, so it wouldn't make sense to name her Shield.
I do like how we get a Pokémon variant of YouTube before Chairman Rose's speech, and he sends out this elephant-like Pokémon, and for this playthrough, I will not spoil the new Pokémon, unless that Pokémon was revealed pre-release, and the elephant-thing was not revealed pre-release, so I won't spoil what it is, heck I have never seen this elephant-like Pokémon before.
We also witness Leon and his Charizard take on Raihan and his Duraludon, which is a Steel/Dragon-type Pokémon that was revealed pre-release, and we see Leon Dynamaxing his Charizard.
Now we control the protagonist, and I do like how the main protagonist has a Munchlax as a pet, because in Sun & Moon, the main character had a Kantonian Meowth as a pet, as they did move from Kanto to Alola. Another thing to note is that the main character's mother is known as "Mum" in this game and not "Mom", as "Mum" is the British spelling, but then again Galar is based on the United Kingdom, so it would make sense in some way.
Then we meet Hop, the rival character of this game, and he has a partner Pokémon with him, that being his Wooloo. After visiting Hop's house, we learn that Leon and his Charizard have arrived at Wedgehurst, I do like how the Galar cities are one worded names, so we don't have like "Viridian City", they only have one word. A large crowd has gathered there, and I do like how Hop calls his brother Lee as a nickname.
When we return to Hop's house, Leon shows us the new Starter Pokémon, I will go over each of them, but I will not spoil their evolutions.
First up is Grookey, the Grass-type starter, Grookey's best stats are Attack and Speed, and it can learn a new move called Branch Poke, a Physical 40 power Grass-type move, I won't go over the final evolutions for the starters, but Grookey will be focusing on Attack for its main stat, so it will be the Physical attacker out of the three.
Next up is Scorbunny, which will learn Ember at Level 6, like Grookey, Scorbunny will focus on Attack and Speed, and as a Fire-type, it has the right stats to make use of, as Fire-type Pokémon are good at being fast attackers, and Scorbunny fits in with that very well.
Now onto the Water-type Sobble, which will have Speed and Special Attack as its best stats, and like the other two, Sobble will learn Water Gun at Level 6, it is a good option to consider for a Water-type, Sobble is a fast Special Attacker, all three are not bad choices, I won't go too far into detail about them.
Hop will pick the starter that has the type disadvantage against yours, so he is a bit like Hau from Pokémon Sun & Moon. You will then challenge Hop to a battle, and he will start with his Wooloo, which you should be able to take out with your basic Normal-type moves, Grookey has Scratch, Scorbunny has Tackle, and Sobble has Pound, and they will learn Branch Poke, Ember, or Water Gun respectively, which will help against Hop's starter.
After that, a Wooloo breaks through the fence, and we are forced to enter Slumbering Weald, which is a forbidden forest where some very dangerous Pokémon live, but thankfully the wild Pokémon there are weak, we meet two newly discovered Pokémon, Skwovet, a Normal-type Squirrel Pokémon which is the Rattata of this game, and Rookidee, a pure Flying-type Pokémon, which is the first since Tornadus in Gen 5. I believe that Rookidee is meant to be the base form of Corviknight, a Pokémon that was also revealed in pre-release, but I am just speculating.
The nice thing is that Hop will heal your team if ever you get in a battle, so this can be a good way to grind a bit, and at the end we meet an unknown Pokémon, and some strange things happen.
