While our MIT graduate Dr. Gordon Freeman is taking care of the Resonance Cascade and Xen aliens at the Black Mesa Research Facility using his trusty crowbar and HEV Suit, we dive into a small side story set in the same universe with a rival company of Black Mesa. We take control of Chell, a female test subject inside the Aperture Science Research Facility, where we obtain the titular Portal Gun to make our way through 19 test chambers in order to escape the maze -like corridors and hopefully get some of that sweet cake that was promised to us by a mysterious voice.

This game has a very oppressive atmosphere and was something I did not expect when I started to play for the first time. You are alone inside of a giant facility and the only thing that keeps you company is a voice that tends to be very sarcastic and makes awful remarks about death. It's a shame that this game has a VERY short play time compared to other Valve games; but then again, puzzle games are not meant to be long either.
