I've started taking brief looks at other games that are similar to Dwarf Fortress

Prison Architect has you build a prison to keep criminals contained, while meeting their needs such as hunger, exercise, sleep, family, among others. You start off with a limited budget and you get a small amount of money per prisoner per day, but not really enough to make a nice prison. You have to build small facilities at first, while researching methods of better containing your prisoners with guard stations and patrols, and later unlocking prison labor which allows you to have your prisoners make objects that you can sell to help generate more money for improving your prison.

The game is still in Alpha, with new updates coming out about once a month. If you like what you see here, check it out!
