Project Wingman Frontline-59 Mission 1: Bottom of the Barrel
2Taking place after the Battle of the Bering Strait. The battle has ended in a decisive victory for the Cascadian Independence Force. The remaining Federation forces that managed to escape are currently heading back towards Federation airspace. Hundreds of Federation pilots have been lost as a result of the Federation defeat. The situation is so bad that Federation HQ, Crystal Kingdom, has given the order for reserve squadrons to be deployed in "emergency deployments." One reserve squadron, assigned to protect the Federation State of Magadan, has been ordered to take off and assist retreating Federation transports. The reserve squadron is called K9, consisting of four pilots who have been called up for active duty. The squadron leader goes by the tac name: Driver. The reserve pilots immediately take off and engage mercenaries hired by the CIF. The mercenaries have gotten overconfident because of the victory they scored over the Bering Strait, and have followed retreating Federation transports into Magadan airspace.
