Prototyping a new mute system for the Marble Machine X!

A good thing with Bandcamp Downloads is that you can choose to download songs in any of these audio formats: WAV, MP3, FLAC, ALAC, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, and AIFF.

I came up with a much better design for the mute system and built a prototype to test it. This is so much better than the first sketch and lightyears better than the system that the first marble machine used. I think this could be one of the key solutions to make Marble Machine X work consistently.

The one thing left to fix on this system, which i forgot to test in the video, is this scenario:
A programming pin hits the registering pin at the same time as you try to mute the channel. This could cause a "half hit" which we can not allow. Im thinking of solutions to this. How to make it impossible to mute a channel when a programming pin is engaged with a registering pin. Maybe they can lock into each other when engaged and then when the note is fully played, release and get muted. This could be solved by mounting something elastic/springs on top, and lift the "ratchet arm" in this spring, allowing it to stay down when engaged. If you followed what i wrote there i am impressed. Hopefully the video is clearer.
