Pumpkin Tea Crème Brûlée recipe tutorial for Nancy Drew: Midnight in Salem
It's Christmas, and we're pretty sure that even Nancy would take a break from sleuthing to spend the day with her friends and her family! Of course, she'd obviously have something delicious to eat to celebrate. We're pretty sure she'd love this pumpkin filled and tea infused crème brûlée that we created for the 2020 HerInteractive Summer Cookoff contest!
Question time! If there was a crème brûlée flavor based off of each Nancy Drew game, what flavors do you think there would or should be?
Pumpkin-Tea Crème Brûlée
3 Egg Yolks
5 Tbsp Sugar
Dash Salt
1 1/4 cups Heavy Cream
1 Tea Bag or other Black Tea
1/2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
3/8 tsp. Pumpkin Pie Spice
2 Tbsp Pumpkin Puree
Stir together egg yolks, sugar, and salt. Add vanilla, pumpkin, and pumpkin pie spice to the mixture. Heat cream and tea together until steaming, then remove tea bag and slowly mix cream into the egg mixture. Pour into two or three ramekins and place them into a larger dish, adding water to the larger dish halfway up the sides of the ramekins. Bake at 325 for 40-45 minutes- until the edges are set but the middle still trembles. Chill for a minimum of two hours, then sprinkle each serving with about 3/4 tsp sugar. Place directly under a broiler and broil for 1-2 minutes, until sugar has melted.
