Check out the video I recorded on N64 hardware for more comments (https://youtu.be/DJDx--k6lLU), but Quake 2 on the N64 is a different Quake game than its PC counterpart. It has unique levels, unique music, and runs on a fork of the Quake 64 engine! I enjoyed it enough on the N64, that I decided to complete it using the Ares emulator. Thankfully Ares emulates Quake 2 quite well without any noticeable bugs. Also I get a resolution boost and a few more controller binding options with it. Overall I prefer the N64 version over the PC version for its enhanced atmosphere, level design, and it's more classic level progression.
