Quake II (2023) - Call of the Machine - OPERATION: Laser Eyes
0Much like how Quake 1 got an enhanced version in 2021, Quake II got the same treatment in 2023. Now with new graphics, improved AI, and restored cut content such as unused enemy behavior and the Disruptor and A-M Bomb from Ground Zero. But yeah, you can play through the original campaign, the new expansion Call of the Machine, the previously N64-exclusive Quake II 64, and the two official mission packs, all in one remastered package.
So now I'm doing a gameplay on Call of the Machine, since I did the others. The expansion plays much like Quake 1 and its 2021 expansion, Dimension of the Machine. The main objective is to drop 6 Marines into different units, all of their goals being to find a Data CD somewhere in the level and upload its data back to the space vessel, which is the hub map. Once all CDs have been uploaded, the final level opens where you can take on the big guy.
Much like said games, the units can be played in any order. This unit here is listed as the second unit, but it's the one I go for first due to how left it was. It also looks like the only unit in the expansion to take place on Stroggos, because almost all of the textures used are the original textures. I guess classic gamers would agree.
