In fact, even after a few hours of exploring your map could be a little bit... empty, except for a couple of big markers of important locations you find. So, how do you get it to look like a real map? Well, the thing is that you need to find the ACTUAL map of the region you're visiting. In the case of the starting area, it can be located here, in the Gatefront ruins, just before arriving at the gate and Site of Grace. You just have to check the shiny thing by the pillar and voila! You now have a map to guide you in your journey.
