The Ranger is a capable and deadly class in it's own right; able to fight on the front lines and at range, using magic, directing an animal companion, with a litany of skills and abilities that supplement them to top it off.

But one ability in particular, while being an iconic part of the Ranger class, can be somewhat niche in it's applications. Selecting a favored enemy can yield great advantages when their ventures and encounters involve the beings they have so closely studied.

But when they are not featured? The Ranger misses out on a good chunk of bonuses that add to their effectiveness and help them to keep up with their allies in a multitude of encounters.

Our resident master of lore and storyteller extraordinaire comes prepared with a proposed fix, citing established precedent from a previous D20 ruleset game and a possible tweak to make the fix more palatable for those who might find it to be too much.
