Ark Survival Evolved puts you on an island full of dangers and dinosaurs and tests your mettle to survive. Don't mind the massive floating obelisks dotting the skyline, in the earliest stages of the game you need to focus on getting food, warmth, and not becoming a dino snack. In this video, I show you how to get started from a fresh character and a fresh save.

What is Ark: Survival Evolved:
Ark is a game in the increasing popular survival genre that is currently in Early Access. The game has both PvP and PvE elements, where you can do standard things like craft items, build bases, and take on other players. The extra layer of Ark, and what makes it a bit more exciting to me, is that there is a substantially large PvE element as well that includes taming dinosaurs and dedicated end game content. Of course, because the game is in Early Access, it is always evolving and getting patched. But so far, WildCard, the developer, has done a great job keeping communication open and putting out updates. Plus, no zombies. Thus far, this feels like early access done right.
