Shortly after Ratchet & Clank head out to the Gemlik Moon Base, Drek than assigns Captain Qwark to getting rid of the duo before they can stop the former's plans to destroy Gorda City and flies him to the moon base. After they arrive Ratchet & Clank just missed Drek and decide that if they want to stop both him and Qwark, they will need a much faster ship. However after searching the moon base and blasting their way through the enemies, they find Captain Qwark was waiting for them. After he escapes the duo with the Star Fighter, Ratchet & Clank use one of the ships to shoot him down, which they successfully did (after a lengthy battle). After celebrating victory and finding a new ship to find Drek, the Infobot showing the news about Gorda City being reduced to a Post Apocalyptic city opened up Ratchet's eyes and he owned up for being so selfish, but Clank reassures the Lombax that it's not too late to stop Drek's plans in which Ratchet agrees to use the ship to find more clues about Drek's whereabouts.
