After playing R-Type Final 3, I dug my PlayStation 2 out of the attic and hooked it up to my OSSC so I could play R-Type Final. I knew I was going to record again, but I needed practice. I played Score Attack for two weeks straight until I could memorize everything. I even practiced 5.0 and F-C on the morning that I recorded just to be 100% sure of what I was doing, because R-Type Final is such a long game.
I used a lot of powerful ships because I wasn't leaving anything to chance. Negus O Shim? Takes too long to kill with a burst Wave Cannon like the Albatross uses, though I could have. Dobkeratops? I'm a human, and my reaction speed is too slow on the heart projectiles, so I vaporized it. Fine Motion? I practiced this stage at first with the Albatross, but needed a Wave Cannon to kill the red pegs quickly. I still had to charge the Wave Cannon for the instant kill, and I was hoping to do the laser dance, but I didn't get it, as its attacks are random. I straight up cheesed stage 6.2 because I knew that I didn't want to leave anything to chance. I only practiced F-C with the Charon. I tried and tried and TRIED to get that safe spot that I see others use on the Surge Bydo wave, but it was hit or miss if I got it, so I went with a ship that I knew I could win with. Again, not wanting to leave anything to chance.
I don't think that the Blue Man Group song "Piano Smasher" fits R-Type Final, like, at all, so I edited in "Proud of You" as is present from the Japanese version of the game. I slowed down the credits footage to 61% so that the whole song would be included.
