0RACECRAFT - BUILD & RACE is a race track builder and simulator for kids. Starting with a tutorial, kids learn to build their own race tracks with a variety of parts, taking advantage of special power boosts on the building platform. When finished, they race their car in a first-person-style view by tapping on a speed icon. As they play, they unlock new parts that they can use for new tracks or to edit old ones. Kids can also purchase other cars with distinct powers and custom track pieces. While a two-player race is available, it requires purchasing at least one additional car.

It's refreshing to find a track building/racing car game for kids that doesn't feel like it was designed for kids. Immediately upon launching RaceCraft - Build & Race, kids are immersed in the world of race car driving as announcers welcome them and get them started with building. Building a track requires minimal fine motor skills, but it does take some planning, as pieces rotate themselves to fit into place. Likewise, racing is as easy as tapping on the screen, although it should be noted that the focus is more on track building than actually racing. The graphics are colorful and polished, and the immersive experience of riding your own race track is a win. The real drawback --one of the only drawbacks -- is the pressure to buy additional cars. They're expensive, but also enticing -- a rough combination for families on a budget. Still, this is a fun game with appeal that will extend to many older kids and adults.
