As the title suggests, this is the follow up to the 1996 game Raiden Fighters. Very similar to its predecessor, with similar stage layout (3 main missions, divided into 3 areas, and battle against a giant boss enemy). the game introduces new gameplay mechanics.
One new feature is the combined hybrid attack available in two player co-op mode. Each player does there individual special attack, which combines into one devastating attack.
The ship roster has also increased from 7 to 14 available ships, plus 2 hidden. New ships available are Death Header, Flying Ray and Hell Diver, but to name a few.
Raiden Fighters 2 takes place four years after Raiden Fighters. The evil dictator is no more. However, the remnants of his followers regroup and form a new terrorist organisation. So, once again the Raiden fighters are re activated to counter the threat.
Here, I do a 1 Loop Only Normal Mode playthrough with The Beast Wing class fighter.
Note: This playthrough is not done for expertise or high scoring purposes, but rather, entertainment and posterity sake. Expect lots of continues and deaths. Oh well..
