With one AI competitor completely removed, it's time to start a full connection to my main network. That means parts of the old network will be removed and laid down again, stations are going to be (re)build and eventually new routes are made.
I kept the game running as much as I could, while doing this and noticed that there's a large difference between how the AI sets things up and how I do it. For one thing, I barely use any warehouse and I actually prefer not to use them at all, while the AI drops them at almost every city.
I prefer to have maintenance depots at my cargo stations, this particular AI didn't even have them! Which explains to me why it was so easy to take it over at some point, as the trains once belonging to him keep breaking down over and over again.
It's something for me to worry about later, as my biggest concerns in this episode is to lay tracks through the mountains and making the final connection.
It was a very nice challenge for a change.
