Rambo The Videogame! Rogue Like On Rails SHMUP FTW!
0I am a huge fan of On Rails SHMUPS, and Rogue Likes, as well. Typically, a Rogue Like would have you be "against the odds", and it would be an almost insurmountable challenge to get very far without perishing! It is a die and try one more time sort of affair! Pringles with Video Games! In any case, Rambo The Video Game, which was critically bashed in a world of Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty Games, would have done quite nicely in an Arcade in the 1990s!
But, for someone like myself, who is both a fan of the Rambo Universe in general, as well as Sylvester Stallone, as an overall actor and personality, and...of course, on rail shmups! This is The Game for me:) Games I actually devote time tend to be ones that are critically bashed for whatever reasons. But, they have certain qualities which make them attractive to me. Case, in point, Jaws Unleashed! It was trashed sooooo bad! It wasn't until Maneater came out, that the critics turned favor in a different direction, and that WAS the True Jaws Game to play:)
Yes, ALL games have their flaws. But, what truly counts is if you enjoy them. Rambo, I know I will enjoy trying to get further as I do more playthroughs, mastering the fine line between low health and that really incredibly cool "rage" mode:) Ever notice Al Pacino has a rage mode, in EVERY movie he is in:) So does Nick Cage:)
Anyways, if you wanna see me do more of the Rambo Game, let me know. Once I am leveled up enough, I will likely do a FULL Playthrough:) And, being that I have seen every Sylvester Stallone movie, several times over, I am pretty sure I can go through his entire catalog, throughout the course of said video:) Nighthawks is my underrated gem of a Sylvester Stallone movie, where he takes on a Serial Killer! Every Action Star has to take on a Serial Killer in at least one flick:) There is literally a 5 degrees of Kevin Bacon going on there, where you can link Harrison Ford to Sylvester Stallone, alone, just on the Action Star - Serial Killer statement:)
