Rampage (Amiga)
played by Judgment Storm
Character: George
Score: 141.825

From Activision and Monarch Development, this is Rampage on the Amiga. Though the graphics aren't quite up there with the Sega Master System or especially the Bally/Midway arcade original (which runs at 512 x 480), this is a good port. It does not have the BGM from the Sega one though... to be fair, that wasn't in the arcade.

Smash the buildings as you gobble up soldiers and (almost) anything you find inside. There are vehicles on the street below... mostly cars and an occasional train, but look out for a tank.

Like the arcade, this version doesn't end. I'm sure it would have 128 different levels. One thing it does have over the SMS version is that it can take 3 players at once like the arcade... someone will have to use the keyboard though. At least the keyboard control is not bad (I tried it here!).

In this version you get only one life. Losing will send you to the high score screen to enter your initials, and continuing will set your score back to zero- unlike the arcade game where you keep your points if you buy back in.

Trivia: The arcade version's newspaper headline sometimes shows the characters in their human forms. They're depicted by designer Brian Colin (George), his wife Rae (Lizzie), and designer Jeff Nauman (Ralph). Lizzie is not based on Godzilla, but rather the Ymir, a similar but not as large monster from 20 Million Miles to Earth.
