Race Drivin' A Go Go! (PS1) Original Track Arcade Mode
In its several appearances on 16-bit consoles and computers, Race Drivin' was not done justice. Some attempts like Amiga and Mega Drive were pretty ambitious, but the hardware just wasn't enough. And SNES... well, it was generally considered hopeless, but it's been rescued by Vitor Vilela with an impressive SA-1 hack. The Game Boy version is a pleasant surprise.
On the 32-bit PlayStation, it's done well. The framerate is even smoother than the arcade, and there's an announcer. At least he's not overused and is limited to occasional things like "jump!", "off road!", or even an occasional "Aaaaagh!" if you total the car. You can unlock extra vehicles that aren't found in the arcade.
