Back in episode 98, I experienced Rampart for the first time, when I played and reviewed the Genesis version. It was an interesting experience, as I definitely have never played another game quite like Rampart, and it was an enjoyable mix of a Tetris styled puzzle game, along with equal parts action and strategy, but it had some nagging issues to ultimately I thought it was just okay.

Well, it's almost one hundred episodes later, so now it's time to take a look at the Master System version, and see what Tengen was able to come up with. Being that Rampart isn't the most technically advanced game in the world, I had high hopes that the Master System version would be just as good, and possibly even better, considering the higher level of difficulty it had to contend with, being on an 8 bit platform.

Unfortunately, while the game itself is intact, and plays very similar to the Genesis version, the developers seemed to have...forgotten...part of the game. Give it a watch to find out what I'm talking about.
