A more modern Battle Chess with different mouse controls and FMV sequences stuffed onto two CDs. Chess Wars starts off tolerable but can be altered significantly in the options menu. Underneath these multimedia flourishes lies a mean game of chess to battle against! James loses, shoots a bishop with a crossbow, and near-deafens himself with bursts of static. Clunky, but not without its charms.
