Ratchet & Clank: Part 4: Swinging for a Shot in Kerwan
3At the point, I see Kerwan's Metropolis as a physical national anthem to Ratchet & Clank as a whole. You're going to be seeing it more times beyond this first game.

I don't do too much here right now. Head to the left after the stairs from your ship, and you will go through an obstacle course, hosted by Captain Qwark.
Or rather... a robot dummy of one. It took Clank a minute to realize this before Ratchet just outright tells him off on it.
If you clear the obstacle course. You will be greeted by Qwark's best trainer with a prize...
But this trainer was quite mean to the duo. She forced them to pay up for their prize because she found their performance through the course pathetic. Some trainer! But besides that, this wasn't a bother to me.
Cough up the 1,000 Bolts and she'll give you a Swingshot. This Gadget can cling to certain orbs. Green ones are for Ratchet to zip towards, while double yellow ones are for swinging with the yellow lightning they generate between each other.

There is a place in Aridia where I can use the Swingshot to go through another obstacle course that depends on your use of the Swingshot to beat it.
But take care of the red room that contains at least 6 Swingshot targets. Try to use them in a way that keeps you from touching the ground correctly, and you'll get a Skill Point for it, called "Swing It!"
Whether you do or not, the end of this course has another Gadget waiting for you: The Trespasser.
The Trespasser has you go through puzzles that have you line up lasers with all of the receptors you see in it. Get them all lined up to unlock doors, but they will get more complicated as you go further through the game. I spent a few minutes on some of the later ones.

If I don't get certain Gold Bolts now, I may get them later. I have missed some, and there were others that were impossible to get without a certain Gadget that I just didn't have at the time.
So after a second visit to Aridia, I'm going back to Kerwan to check the rest of Metropolis out.
