Xenoblade Chronicles DE: Part 64: Replica Monado 1 Quest (Rudra)
At this point of Chapter 17, Shulk was completely back in action, Alvis turns out to be the last of Zanza's three Disciples, and now he has fled with Dickson back inside the Monado where their Lord awaited them.
When you're ready to figure your own way inside the Bionis, talk to Miqol at Junks and he will start the ship for it.
Junks heads inside of the Bionis through its chest, based on a wound Egil dealt to it in that area.
You will be inside of the Bionis in a completely different area from when you started from Satorl Marsh, but you can eventually reach that same place again.
----------
This video and the next few will take a short break from the plot to be more focused on how Shulk now has to carry around a Replica Monado to replace the real one that Zanza took from him.
However, if you talk to Vanea, she can give you Quests where you can gather materials for her to create more Replicas, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, to finally give Shulk some customizing capabilities with his weapons. You do not have to do this, and in fact I can only get 4 out of 5 of these Quests done immediately before moving closer toward the endgame.
----------
For Replica Monado 1, which is codenamed Rudra, you need.
- 1 Lucky Fang from a Feris in Satorl Marsh.
- 1 piece of Caterpile Silk from a Caterpile.
- 1 Ardun Elder Beard from an Ardun.
I had to turn on Casual Mode to get this done. It's supposedly level down all enemies by 20. The Feris ones I had to look for in order to possibly get a Lucky Fang from them is leveled within the 80s, but my party members were in their late 60s to early 70s.
You will need to fight a Magnis Ardun somewhere on the Bionis' Leg (a.k.a. Gaur Plain, to possibly get an Ardurn Elder Beard from it.
In a cavelike area also on the Bionis' Leg, you'd need to kill Royal Caterpiles until one of them gave you some Caterpile Silk.
When you get all of that done, bring them to Vanea to complete the Quest.
----------
Monado Rudra is focused on Attack Stability. This is meant to increase the minimum amount of damage Shulk's attacks will deal to enemies, all to tighten his damage range.
Damage dealt in this game is based on a range or spectrum that is randomly picked with each hit. If you have a damage range of 2000 to 2500, then every Auto-Attack that lands will pick a basic number from within that range.
Things like Monado Rudra would shorten that range to nearly 2100 - 2500, instead. However, for this playthrough, I've mainly focused on raising my maximum amount of damage, which means I could equip something that would instead change Shulk's range to 2000 - 2600.
I didn't really focus on stability, here, but this Quest finally made me understand it better.
Now to show off some more Replicas you can get!
