Ray Tracers (Taito) - ePSXe (part 1)
41(Part -1) Ray Tracers is a PS1 game that's a sort of unofficial pseudo sequel to the Chase HQ series by Taito. It shares the same bash the bad guys off the road type of gameplay, only instead of taking down exotic sports cars, in this one you're up against strange mecha-tanks, huge helicopters and Harrier jump jets.
I'd never heard of this game back in the days when I did own a PS1, but if I had I would've snapped it up as I'm a big Chase HQ fan. It's pretty fun, and certainly ticks all the right arcade racer-y type boxes for me, although as an early PS1 game I think it must pre-date the first DualShock analog pad as the controls are digital only.
With all the graphics plugins in ePXSe set to improve, upscale and smooth out the graphics this almost looks more like a Sega Model 2 era arcade game than a PS1 console game (apart from the slower frame rate).
Oh, and it's got a character called 'Spanker' in it...
