Sega Rally (Model 2 Emulator v1)
Just for fun, a quick playthrough of Sega Rally Championship in Sega Model 2 Emulator, in glorious 60 fps and widescreen (well, not 60fps after YouTube's finished rendering it, but it was when I was playing it).
I think this is a fairly decent run. I just can't conquer the Lakeside track though, I used to be able to do it on the Saturn but it just always kicks my arse here.
What a fantastic ageless game though, still as much fun to play now as it was back in 1995. The reason I felt like cracking open a bit of old-skool Sega Rally is because I recently acquired a copy of Sega Rally Revo for the PC and, my god, it handles terribly. I was trying to get the hang of it with my new Logitech Driving Force GT wheel and after several goes, I was still fishtailing all over the shop, constantly smacking into corners and over-steering as I watch the AI disappearing into the distance. After about 30 minutes of this I just thought 'fuck this!' and loaded up the original game in M2 Emu and, immediately, it handles like a dream without the need for any messing about with wheel setting or any shite like that.
Still, at least Sega Rally Online Arcade on my PS3 plays nicely even if it is only 30 fps *grumble, grumble*
