"R.C. Pro-Am", developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), made its debut in North America in February 1988, followed by a European release on April 15 of the same year. Presented in an overhead isometric perspective, the game pits a single player against opponents in a series of radio-controlled car races featuring vehicular combat elements.

Players navigate their cars around tracks, vying for the top three positions to qualify for subsequent races. Power-up items scattered across the tracks enhance performance, while hazards such as rain puddles and oil slicks pose challenges. Players can also deploy missiles and bombs to temporarily disable opponents.

Originally titled Pro Am Racing, the game received a Sega Genesis port in 1992 as Championship Pro-Am, featuring enhanced graphics and additional features. R.C. Pro-Am spawned two sequels: Super R.C. Pro-Am in 1991 and R.C. Pro-Am II in 1992.

The game has great visuals, sound, gameplay mechanics, and overall enjoyability. Its unique overhead perspective distinguished it from previous racing games and inspired future titles like Super Off Road, Rock n' Roll Racing, and the iconic Mario Kart series. The game has consistently ranked among the best NES games of all time. The game is simple to get into, has great controls, and an immersive experience, making it a great racing game that has stood the test of time.
