"The Jetsons: Robot Panic" is a platforming adventure developed and published by Taito Corporation for the Game Boy platform. Players take on the role of George Jetson, the iconic patriarch of the Jetson family, as he navigates through various challenges in Orbit City.
When George Jetson receives an urgent call from his boss, Mr. Spacely, seeking his help to quell a robot uprising wreaking havoc on the town, George springs into action. With the assistance of his family, George sets out to tackle various locations overrun by rogue robots. However, they soon discover that these mechanical menaces were unleashed by Mr. Spacely's rival, Cogswell of Cogswells Cogs.
One of the game's key mechanics is the ability to utilize George's gadgets, including his trusty jetpack and other futuristic tools, to overcome obstacles and defeat enemies. Players start by selecting one of three initial levels, each featuring a different character from The Jetsons franchise: Elroy, Judy, and Jane, with its own unique ability. All characters can throw various types of boxes found throughout the game though. Once players navigate through the initial stages, they assume the role of the main character, George Jetson, for the remainder of the game with has access to all abilities.
The game's controls are adequate, but the character's size often leads to easy damage, especially when using the jetpack. While George has access to all three abilities, the game ramps up here in difficulty with traps and misleading doors. Overall, while "The Jetsons: Robot Panic" offers a pretty unique experience, and is a solid albeit short platforming game.
