RDNA 3 Refresh Is DEAD? RTX 4060 Ti Perf = RTX 3070

Today, reports that the RDNA 3 refresh is DEAD have surfaced. For some time, reports that the RX 7000 refresh would deliver on the RNDA 3 3Ghz promise (as well as other performance and specs improvements) have been doing the rounds, but today, the RDNA 3 refresh is allegedly CANCELLED. But if this is true, why would AMD cancel the RDNA 3 refresh? And what does this mean for the future of RDNA 3? With RTX 40 beating RX 7000 GPUs handily in ray tracing performance, many had hoped that the RX 7000 refresh would even the playing field across specifications, gaming and ray tracing performance. Could AMD be preparing to save their time and resources for RDNA 4? And will RDNA 4 be able to beat RTX 50?

We also have an update on the RTX 4060 Ti performance, as leaks popped up recently which pointed to the RTX 4060 Ti having RTX 3070 level performance. For many gamers, this will be a very disappointing performance uplift, especially with many feeling that the RTX 40 series is too expensive at MSRP to offer enough price vs performance value.
