The group explores the hive of the Queen of the Borbarad worms. They face her powerful illusions, a long and confusing maze, and even battle illusory doubles of themselves before facing her. After she is defeated, the heroes escape the hive, and their journey is ultimately at its end.
I really enjoyed the Northland Trilogy as a whole. Star Trail is my favourite of the three games, since it's the best balanced and has the greatest variety of enemies.
For Riva, I didn't like how enemies recovered from Paralyze so quickly, despite it having a duration of permanent in the manual. The spell seems to have been nerfed quite a bit, compared to how it was in Star Trail where only endgame foes could recover from it. Despite this complaint, I did enjoy the wide variety of enemies, and the bosses, especially the demon and the worm Queen. The story is Riva's best aspect, and it's far more in-depth and fleshed-out, compared to the first two games. It's also the scariest, with the Tower of the Magician being quite terrifying at times. "Washes," I'm looking at you!
I'm going to miss this series. It was a fun ride, and I enjoyed seeing my characters grow and become so powerful by the end.
Marcus, Victor, Drake, Dexter, Memphis, and Bernard; I'll miss you.
