A team of British army bomb disposal experts working in Afghanistan have defused a record number of improvised explosive devices. They managed to diffuse 12 IEDs in a single operation, the largest number to be found in a single search in Helmand province. There were a huge variety of devices ranging in size from five to 15 kilograms and all were located within 300 metres of each other on a route known as Bandi Barq Road. The bombs were discovered by a Royal Engineers Search Team and all 12 were defused by Royal Logistic Corps Ammunition Technical Officer, Warrant Officer Class 2 Iain Martin.
