Red Dead Redemption 2 (Xbox One X) - Gameplay
Welcome to Game Play. A series, of sorts, where I check out various video games and share my experiences with you.
Today we're taking a look at Red Dead Redemption 2 (Xbox One X).
I've spent quite a few hours alongside John Marston in the original Red Dead Redemption, and I absolutely loved it. So I was very excited to try out the sequel.
One can only marvel at the sheer amount of work that has been put into the game. The world, its sounds and inhabitants are beautifully crafted to a photo-realistic degree and it's hard not to be impressed by its size and interactivity. The voice-acting is of the highest quality and the animations are among the finest and most detailed in the entire industry. This is truly a passion project.
However, not everything is great. During my short gameplay experience there were a few issues here and there. For instance, having to pick up every single item will become quite bothersome for some players, who simply wish to pick up multiple items and objects and move on. There are also a few instances where some of the animations stutter and the controls can, at times, feel a bit clunky.
But these minor flaws, or issues, aren't game breaking in any sense. Red Dead Redemption 2 seems to be a high quality AAA game, and I cannot wait to further explore this wide world alongside Arthur Morgan and his crew.
This video was recorded directly through the Xbox One X console to an external hard drive. No post-work has been done. This is also why the video stops so abrubtly. I wanted to keep it as close to the original recording as possible, so I hope you'll bear with me.
