Disclosure: This game copy was bought by the reviewer.

You are the last human being in the world, or so you thought. A mysterious message prompts you to find the writer and explore the world for other traces of humanity. Robots, dolls and environmental hazard will attempt to stop your progress, but a collection of guns and tools will make the trip easier. They are scattered in a non-linear environment with save points (scarse as they may be) acting as your re-spawn point should death find you. If you do reset or die, enemies and boxes will respawn, but any ladders or shortcuts will remain open. It is a hard game with experimentation and repetition making the next step forward easier.

All of that aside, the visuals are certainly gorgeous (complemented by a great soundtrack) and the level layouts allow for multiple goals should you find one path being to difficult. While exploring, their will be a collection of health and ammo increases that complement the weapon variety in terms of progression/growth. Backtracking will become an issue later, which is made worse by the lack of a map.

Controls are rebind-able for controller and keyboard, but things can be rather awkward on keyboard due to the lack of mouse key inputs. On the bug list, I only noticed a couple of spots where the character can get stuck (mainly if you roll into walls), which were fixed with a simple roll in the opposite direction. I am still playing through it, but it is estimated at 5-6 hours, but not sure if this includes all collectibles. I will have a final verdict on my curator, but I will say this game isn't that bad so far.
