Foundation , Setting Up a New Kingdom
Disclosure: This game copy was bought by the reviewer.
Establish a new kingdom with the help of your subjects in a semi-organic development. The key points are the towns people being able to construct their own roads and housing (designate the area for housing) and the three types of monuments required to unlock special buildings. Plenty of issues with the small UI and the annoying placement of critical menus (villager status, building menus). There are a good amount of industrial buildings so far that tie into food, clothing, and advanced materials that can be sold at market for profit/sustenance. There is a clear balancing issue with how these products are produced and for the case of food, an issue with reliability in its' usage. There are also a handful of systems in place that have no purpose yet, such as defense points
(except to send off on requests replies). The lack of difficulty (outside building to fast) leaves the game feeling streamlined and the lack of long term purpose (no story quests past the minuscule tutorial and only a few re-occurring requests for monument points) makes playing past the initial construction pointless. This is essentially a decent groundwork requiring some core mechanic polishing.
Verdict: Hold off for now until some more content gets added in and they fix some of the performance issues (loading issues and slow down once you reach a certain point).
